Take control.
Over the years, I absorbed a mountain of information about stress and anxiety. That’s pretty normal for people with anxiety. We are fixers, looking for solutions to problems. And while all that anxiety education was interesting in helping me understand my journey, it never really brought what I would call real healing or a real end to the suffering. That started coming when I crossed the bridge from knowing about anxiety to doing something about it.
I moved forward by getting off the meds, finding a good therapist, and confronting the demons of some past trauma. I started feeling things again and celebrated both the good and bad of life. I quit running away from myself and started embracing who God created me to be.
For me, my real anxiety healing started when I adopted one goal, and that was to stop running from anxiety and face it straight up. Terrifying, yes, but also totally freeing. Don’t let anxiety rob you of one more day of your life. Be a warrior today!
